Girls in the Game
To combat the alarming drop-off rate of female participation in soccer, we launched United for Girls. Through our new initiative, we’re aiming to double both the number of young girls impacted by our programming and the number of female coach-mentors who lead them.

Soccer for Social Change
At this year’s Soccer for Success National Training, 130 individuals from across the country gathered in Washington, D.C. to learn the new curriculum for the 2019-2020 program year. These individuals will train 5,000 coach-mentors who will go on to impact more than 100,000 young lives nationwide through soccer.
Reaching Her Potential
We recently awarded five grants to organizations working to address the underrepresentation of young women in soccer in underserved communities. Over the next three years, these five grantees will utilize impactful strategies and share best practices to increase female participation in the sport. This was all made possible by Johnson & Johnson as part of its Because She Can campaign, which is empowering young girls across the country.

Throughout the Women’s World Cup, SOCCER.COM teamed up with U.S. Soccer Foundation ambassador and Women’s World Cup champion Heather O’Reilly to ensure that more children have a safe place to play the beautiful game. 100% of proceeds from every purchased jersey from throughout Heather’s career will contribute to our efforts to build 1,000 Safe Places to Play by 2026 and help make soccer everyone’s game.

At the end of this year, we will have built 30 Safe Places to Play mini-pitches as part of the New York City Soccer Initiative. Thank you to Ace Surfaces, APT, CHA, and Kwik Goal for bringing these pitches to life and helping us increase access to the game across the five boroughs of New York City!
