20-for-20 Mini-Pitch Initiative

To celebrate MLS’ 20th season, we helped create 20 new mini-pitches in each MLS club’s city.

  • “We are most proud of the solid roots that we are leaving in communities where our teams play, where our players live, and where our events take place.”

    Don Garber

    MLS commissioner

  • “Creating mini-pitches like these right next to schools makes the sport accessible and hopefully is going to help kids stay healthy and learn skills—teamwork and all the good things—and hopefully will develop some future soccer stars as well.”

    Jon Patricof

    former president, NYCFC

  • "SNHU awarded full college scholarships to deserving members of the community. These are people who have been really dedicated and who haven’t had a chance or an opportunity to go on to college at a time when it’s more important than ever."

    Paul LeBlanc

    president, SNHU

Before & After

  • A black-and-white photo of an old, worn outdoor court surrounded by a chain-link fence and trees, shown before being converted into a mini-pitch. A few people are scattered around the court, and parked cars line the street in the background. Some overgrown bushes and a grassy area are visible in the foreground.Red and black mini-pitch in DC
