Kids play on the new LEGO mini-pitch in Albuquerque, NM
Let soccer do what soccer does.

Together, we can give millions of kids from underserved communities safe places to grow, thrive and build confidence for life.

Whoaaa, we’re halfway there!

500! That’s how many mini-pitches are open for play. Today’s mini-pitch opening at Hendley Elementary School in Washington, DC. marks our halfway point on the count to 1,000 by 2026.

What do mini-pitches mean to young people? We asked and they told us.

We couldn’t do this alone. There are hundreds of partners who helped us achieve this milestone.

Here’s a few we’d like to shout out:

  • Since 2017, adidas has supported the creation of more than 100 mini-pitches in cities including New York City and Los Angeles. And our new Just Ball League is taking place on mini-pitches in NYC and LA.
  • Together with Target, we created 100 mini-pitches and counting. Additional projects Target supported include mini-pitches in DC, Las Vegas, and Kansas City, among others.
  • Musco Lighting designed a new and enhanced Mini-Pitch System™ alongside our team to make mini-pitches even better. Launched in 2018, the system is complete with lights to increase the number of hours children and adults use the space, benches to watch play unfold, and lockable storage for equipment.
  • The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation gave $5 million in support of the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s United for Girls initiative. Through this partnership, the two groups installed a total of 15 mini-pitches in communities across the country.

Our Safe Places to Play program is literally transforming the landscape of communities across the U.S.
