We’ve partnered with The Salvation Army to expand opportunities for youth living in underserved areas to stay active, embrace healthy lifestyles, and grow on and off the pitch.
This partnership builds on our belief that play and mentorship can be a catalyst for change. We know that sports can mean so much more than physical activity—they can be a catalyst for growth, connection & opportunity. The field can be the first place they learn to work together, solve problems, and gain confidence in themselves.
“This partnership will make a real difference in communities across the country,” said Commissioner Merle Heatwole of The Salvation Army. “Together, we can empower children and families, strengthen communities, and bring hope to those who need it most.”
Through this new collaboration, The Salvation Army will bring our soccer resources and programming into community centers, corps, and after-school initiatives across the country. These programs will help kids build skills in teamwork, confidence, and leadership through soccer.
“This is a pivotal moment for soccer in our country—one marked by unprecedented momentum and growing recognition of the sport’s power to uplift communities,” said Ed Foster-Simeon, our President & CEO. “Our partnership with The Salvation Army reflects a shared commitment to advance the health and well-being of youth living in underserved communities nationwide. Together, we will expand access to proven programs, equip coaches and youth leaders with the tools they need to inspire, and create safe spaces to play. Soccer is more than a game—it’s a catalyst for connection, growth, and opportunity. Through this collaboration, we’re ensuring that youth can experience all the benefits the game has to offer.”
We marked the start of this partnership with a signing ceremony at The Salvation Army’s headquarters, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what comes next. With partners like The Salvation Army, we’re helping kids across the country live healthier, happier lives.
