Mini-Pitch Comes to Kearny, NJ (aka Soccertown U.S.A.)

A mini-pitch at Washington Elementary in Kearny, NJ

What better place for the Premier League and EA Sports to open its first U.S. mini-pitch than in Kearny, NJ, aka Soccertown U.S.A.

Home to soccer legends John Harkes, Tab Ramos, and Tony Meola (and where Tim Howard also once lived), Kearny is a hotbed of soccer culture and fandom.

Students at Washington Elementary School (John Harkes’ alma mater in fact) not only got to play on their new mini-pitch at the opening, but participated in a soccer clinic with Premier League coaches and Newcastle and Brighton & Hove Albion players.

NJ Gov. Phil Murphy, Tim Howard, and the NY/NJ Host Committee also participated in the festivities alongside the Kearny Mayor and Superintendent.
