Bringing Soccer into New York City Public Schools

Physical educators with soccer balls at our training

Together with New York City Public Schools, the U.S. Soccer Foundation is bringing soccer to 100,000 youth in the classroom!

More than 350 physical educators from across all five boroughs of NYC will use the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Soccer for Success School Curriculum this school year to not only teach soccer fundamentals, but also social and emotional skills.

(That’s 10% of public school teachers in New York City that are implementing our school curriculum!)

The partnership kicked off in November 2023 with two virtual trainings as part of NYC Public Schools’ professional development day. It continued in early 2024 with an in-person training at PS 177 in Brooklyn in January and PS 203 in Queens in February. Educators left Queens with 1,200 soccer balls to use in their classes!
