New Study: 6.5 Million Youth Have Easy Access to Mini-Pitch

What started as a single mini-pitch has grown into a nationwide movement transforming how communities play, connect, and thrive. A new study by NC State University finds that 6.5 million children now live within a half mile—roughly a 10-minute walk—of a mini-pitch.

Los Angeles, CA – Ahead of Los Angeles Football Club’s first home match at the new Banc of California stadium, adidas, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation joined the Club in unveiling a new mini-pitch at Menlo Avenue Elementary on Saturday. The project demonstrates the partners’ collective mission to empower youth and communities across Greater Los Angeles by expanding access to the world’s game.
