Together, we can give millions of kids from underserved communities safe places to grow, thrive and build confidence for life.
Fourth-grader Alexandra has been a part of Soccer for Success for four seasons now. Over the course of the past few years, her coaches have watched Alexandra experience a tremendous transformation. The child who used to eat chips, candy, and other junk food has gradually turned to healthier choices: fruits, vegetables and water.
Alexandra’s attitude has improved, too. Coming into Soccer for Success, she was shy and put in minimal effort at each practice. Now, she tries her best and gives each exercise her all. Thanks to the encouragement of her coach-mentors and teammates, Alexandra doesn’t give up if she isn’t immediately successful. She pushes herself until she gets it right.
Even as the day reaches its end and other players are huffing and puffing, Alexandra’s enthusiasm does not fade. The curriculum provided by Soccer for Success has given her the knowledge to make healthier choices and has helped her become more confident. She is already eager for the start of the next season so she can continue to grow and develop her skills — as a player, and as a person.
