From Vision to Play: A New Mini-Pitch with North Texas FWC Organizing Committee and Partners

We celebrated the opening of a new mini-pitch at Lake Dallas City Park, made possible through the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s partnership with the North Texas FWC Organizing Committee, The National Soccer Roots, and the City of Lake Dallas.

The celebration brought together local leaders, partners, and families, and kicked off with performances from the Lake Dallas High School drumline. The event featured remarks from partners and the ceremonial first kick that officially opened the mini-pitch for play.

This mini-pitch is the first of six planned across North Texas as part of the region’s FIFA World Cup 2026™ legacy—extending the impact of the game to kids and families across North Texas. These free and accessible places to play offer a space where communities can come together, and kids can build confidence and belonging that goes beyond the pitch.

We’re proud to be part of the growing effort to increase access to soccer across North Texas, grounded in our shared belief that every child deserves a place to play and a chance to thrive through soccer.
