From Kearny to Every Corner: Soccer’s Growing in NJ

Children wearing orange pinnies play soccer on a small, enclosed court with colorful markings. A girl in a purple shirt stands near the fence in the background. Surrounding walls feature advertisements, including one that reads 'THE SEASON STARTS HERE' with Premier League and Summer Foundation logos.

We’ve joined forces with the Premier League and the State of New Jersey for a new three-year partnership to bring coach training and sports development resources to underserved communities across the state!

Through this partnership, we will work together to identify local soccer organizations and coaches and provide groups with a coaching development program consisting of both in-person and virtual training. These efforts will provide support for more than 10,000 youth players and 500 soccer coaches.

Coaches will benefit from a robust development program combining the Premier League’s Coach Development curriculum and our own Coach-Mentor Training, which equips coaches to build strong relationships and support youth beyond the game. To celebrate the partnership launch, players and coaches from Premier League clubs Everton and West Ham United hosted a youth soccer clinic at Washington Elementary School in Kearny—the same site as the Kearny mini-pitch we opened together with EA Sports two years ago. This partnership also builds on our Yes, Coach!™ campaign, a nationwide movement to train 100,000 coach-mentors and foster a culture of contribution through youth sports.

We’re excited for this collaboration to continue our mission to ensure soccer leaves a lasting legacy and positively impacts youth—on and off the field.
