11 Mini-Pitches Coming to St. Louis

That was the big news coming out of an event today at DeSoto Park — the site of a new mini-pitch that will break ground this fall.

Two other locations have been announced: Ferguson and Fairmont City, IL. The remaining mini-pitch locations will determined based on input from area residents, local park and recreation departments and community groups.

Along with our team at the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the project is made possible thanks to St. Louis CITY SC and American Family Insurance who are funding the installation of 10 mini-pitches by 2026. The 11th mini-pitch at DeSoto Park is made possible thanks to our partners at Musco Lighting. Musco is also CITYPARK’s stadium lighting partner.

Not only will the mini-pitches provide an opportunity for residents to play soccer together, but it will also unite the community through the power of sport.
