Lisa joined the U. S. Soccer Foundation in April 2022 as the Program Director, Soccer for Success. Her goal is to build relationships with organizations, education agencies, and educators that lead to the adoption and implementation of the Soccer for Success curriculum.
Previously, Lisa served 15 years as the Senior National Physical Education/Physical Activity Advisor for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. Her major responsibilities included providing expert guidance, resources, and professional development to districts, health and physical education teachers, classroom teachers, and local school wellness councils.
Lisa worked with national partners to promote physical activity for staff and students and to create support for more activity before, during and after the school day. She backed districts across the country in improving their physical education curricula and building skills for classroom teachers to implement physical activity. She presented local, state, and national professional development trainings across the United States on topics as diverse as interdisciplinary physical education, student assessment, classroom physical activity, health education best practices, staff wellness, and health-related physical fitness.
Her career in physical education and physical activity spans teaching and coaching at the K-12 and higher education levels, overseeing physical activity, nutrition and tobacco at the Colorado Department of Education, designing and implementing school and corporate staff wellness programs, and working as an exercise physiologist at a health and weight management center for women.
Lisa is a motivator who is committed to improving professional practices and creating a culture of physical activity for our nation’s youth. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and a Master of Education degree in Health and Human Performance from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
