Paul Arriola Hits It Home in Style!

Chula Vista’s Harborside Park is back in action! After major renovations, the park reopened on December 16 with a fresh soccer mini-pitch, thanks to Chula Vista native Paul Arriola, Target, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation. The upgrades include new lighting, security, and a revamped field, all shaped by community feedback.

The mini-pitch is set to be the ultimate spot for soccer fun, offering a safe space for families and kids to get in the game. The grand reopening featured soccer scrimmages, food, music, and more. Plus, this pitch is one of 750 being built nationwide as part of the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s mission to hit 1,000 by 2026 for the FIFA Men’s World Cup!

  • “I am extremely excited and honored to open up the mini-pitch in my hometown of Chula Vista,” said Paul Arriola, forward FC Dallas. “Growing up only a couple of miles away from the park I never had somewhere to go and touch the ball besides the front yard. I’m excited to provide a pitch where kids can come to feel safe, have fun, and continue to grow their love for the sport of soccer. Soccer has the ability to unite all, and I hope this mini-pitch can do just that.”
