U.S. Soccer Foundation, LA Galaxy, and Partners Unveil a New Mini-Pitch at Ricardo Lizarraga Elementary

There’s a new place to play in South Central Los Angeles. We came together with Herbalife, the LA Galaxy, and LAUSD to celebrate a brand-new mini-pitch at Ricardo Lizarraga Elementary School, giving kids a safe, welcoming place to learn, grow, and play.

The celebration brought together community members, partners, and families, including Mauricio Cuevas, LA Galaxy defender and a graduate of Ricardo Lizarrage Elementary School. Cuevas returned to the school to lead a soccer clinic for students as part of the celebration.

This mini-pitch will provide access to soccer and all its benefits to the students of Ricardo Lizarage Elementary School and their community. Through partnerships like these, we are working to promote healthy lifestyles, nutrition education, and access to soccer in neighborhoods across L.A.
