Celebrating the Just Ball Season: Unity Cup Highlights from Los Angeles

This weekend, we celebrated the end of the Just Ball season at the Just Ball Unity Cup in Los Angeles. This event captured everything we love about the program: fun, play, creativity, and community.

Together with adidas, our founding Just Ball partner, and partners NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, El Poder En Ti, and Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures, we welcomed more than 300 Ballers, Playmakers, families, and community members. It was a day packed with opportunities to move, play, and create.

Angel City FC, LAFC, and LA Galaxy added excitement with raffles and giveaways throughout the event. Kids got active with games on the mini-pitch and a mini soccer-golf course, where each won a full-size, competition-grade Trionda ball. Creative stations from custom airbrushed bags to jersey patch design made the day extra special.

Telemundo continued the party with their mobile tour, featuring a DJ stage, giveaways, and a GOOOOOOOOOOOAL booth where kids recorded their best celebrations. Colgate kept smiles bright with a mobile dental unit, offering free visual screenings, plus oral health tips, and goal-setting activities.

We capped off the day by giving kids a chance to make their voices heard at the Foundation press area, where kids shared what Just Ball means to them.

This Unity Cup brought together community members and partners to celebrate the most important parts of the work that we do through programs like Just Ball, recognizing the families, Playmakers, and Ballers. Together, we’re expanding access to the game, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities one season, one pitch, and one kid at a time.
