In celebration of MLS’ 20th season, we joined forces with adidas, MLS WORKS, Southern New Hampshire University, and MLS Clubs for the 20-for-20 Mini-Pitch Initiative, aimed at creating a mini-pitch in each of the club’s cities.
Each 20-for-20 mini-pitch provides children in underserved communities with a safe place to play while creating a soccer environment that encourages unstructured play within local communities, thereby supporting the continued growth of the game across the country.

What Partners Are Saying
While we are so proud of our players and so proud of our league and so proud of how far this sport has come in this country, what we are most proud of is the solid roots that we are leaving in these communities where our teams play, where our players live, and where our events take place.
Don Garber MLS Commissioner
Creating mini-pitches like these right here next to schools makes the sport accessible and hopefully is going to help kids stay healthy and learn skills - teamwork and all the good things - and hopefully will develop some future soccer stars as well.
Jon PatricofPresident, NYCFC
For us, this is all about giving back, and one of the other ways that we're going to give back... is we're going to launch a program called Soccer for Success - 40 children will have the opportunity to receive a free uniform, a soccer ball, teaching instruction, and play three days a week and learn about soccer right here as part of this commitment to Columbus.
Andy LoughnanePresident of Business Operations, Columbus Crew
As a key partner in the 20-for-20 Mini-Pitch Initiative, Southern New Hampshire University awarded full college scholarships to deserving members of the community. These are people who have been really dedicated and who haven't had a chance or an opportunity to go on to college at a time when... it's more important than ever.
Paul LeBlancPresident, Southern New Hampshire University
