Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Major Charitable Arm of Soccer in the U.S., and Fox Soccer Channel today announced a one-year partnership that designates the television company as the Foundation’s Official Media Partner for Sports Television.
As a result of this partnership, Fox Soccer Channel will provide extensive on-air and online promotional support for the Foundation. The network will post-produce a :30-second PSA, provide valuable air time to show the Foundation’s PSA, and run text “squeezebacks” during its telecasts to promote the Foundation’s work in urban communities.
Fox Soccer Channel has been a long-time supporter of the Foundation’s work, providing support to its Annual Fundraising Campaigns, 2008 Streets to Fields Banquet and Soccer United Recovery Fund. They also play a critical role each year in promoting the Foundation’s Annual Online Holiday Auction which features soccer jerseys from some of the world’s top club teams.
“We are thrilled to partner with Fox Soccer Channel and continue working with them to raise awareness about the U.S. Soccer Foundation and our work in urban communities,” said Ed Foster-Simeon, President of the U.S. Soccer Foundation. “It’s a natural partnership. Fox Soccer Channel is a premier soccer programmer in the U.S. that reaches a huge audience of people who share a passion for the game and understand its ability to be a powerful tool for youth development.”
“In addition to showcasing the biggest leagues and tournaments on our network, Fox Soccer Channel remains committed to supporting the sport’s charitable organizations,” said David Sternberg, Fox Soccer Channel Executive Vice President and General Manager. “The U.S. Soccer Foundation has done an outstanding job of promoting soccer at its most grassroots level and encouraging disadvantaged youth to embrace the world’s game. We are proud to serve as the Foundation’s Official Media Partner for Sports Television and provide a national platform to communicate the organization’s invaluable work in our community.”
