Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Soccer Foundation today announced that Beyond Soccer of Lawrence, Mass., has been named the winner of the Field of Dreams campaign. The campaign, which ran for 30 days during July, focused on social media as a means to identify soccer fields and green spaces across the U.S. that could benefit from a Foundation Planning Grant. Lawrence, along with 54 other cities, competed for the chance to win $8,000 in credit towards planning services provided by CHA Sports, which could be used to develop a full-scale concept plan for executing a field-building project. CHA Sports is the official supplier for soccer facility design services nationwide and a partner of the U.S. Soccer Foundation.
Beyond Soccer reaches hundreds of school children in up to 20 schools across the Lawrence Public and Charter School system. As the winner of the Field of Dreams campaign, Beyond Soccer will be able to put in place a plan for a field that will potentially expand participation in Lawrence Youth Soccer, introduce elementary school children to soccer and strengthen Beyond Soccer’s partnership with Lawrence Public Schools.

The City of Lawrence needs and deserves a safe and accessible field where we can come together, be active and strengthen our sense of community.”
