The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the major charitable arm of soccer in the United States, is a leader in sports-based youth development and strives to use soccer as a vehicle for social change in urban areas across the country.

    U.S. MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM LEGEND COBI JONES SIGNS ON AS AMBASSADOR FOR U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION

    Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the major charitable arm of soccer in the United States, today announced that former U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder and National Soccer Hall of Famer, Cobi Jones has signed on to be an Ambassador for the Foundation. Since its founding in 1994, the U.S. Soccer Foundation has provided more than $100 million in funding to create and sustain innovative soccer programs across all 50 states and the District of Columbia. In addition, through its programming the Foundation has collected and redistributed nearly one million pieces of soccer equipment for children in need worldwide and impacts close to 30,000 children a year through its a nationally recognized free afterschool program, Soccer for Success, that uses soccer as a tool to address children’s health issues and juvenile delinquency.

    USWNT MEMBER ALI KRIEGER KEYNOTES U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION'S 9TH ANNUAL URBAN SOCCER SYMPOSIUM

    The U.S Soccer Foundation, the major charitable arm of soccer in the United States, hosts the 9th Annual Urban Soccer Symposium presented by Soccer Shots. The Symposium hosts urban soccer programmers and speakers from across the nation who are dedicated to improving the field of sports-based youth development. Featuring four days of interactive workshops focused on maximizing organizations' impact in the community, the Symposium also includes Capitol Hill Day, in which attendees go on Capitol Hill to meet with government officials to discuss how soccer is positively impacting children in their communities. Support for this Symposium was provided in part by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

    3RD ANNUAL CAPITAL SOCCER CLASSIC HOSTED BY THE U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION

    The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the major charitable arm of soccer in the United States will host the third annual Capital Soccer Classic on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. The premier soccer event, presented by NIKE, will kick off with a round robin tournament of embassies, followed by a Congressional soccer match and tournament for Capitol Hill staffers.

    NEW YORK RED BULLS, U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION, AND NYC PARKS BREAK GROUND ON NEW MINI-PITCH AT LOWER EAST SIDE PLAYGROUND

    The New York Red Bulls, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, and NYC Parks will make an official announcement of a collaboration to provide both critical afterschool programming and a safe place to play for New York City youth. New York Red Bulls leadership and players, U.S. Soccer Foundation leadership, the NYC Parks Commissioner, along with representatives from the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), East Side Community High School, Sport Court and University Settlement, will break ground on a Sport Court mini-pitch that will be built through this collaboration.

    WASHINGTON, DC, January, 28 2015 – The U.S. Soccer Foundation, KaBOOM!, and Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS) today announced the 2014 Let’s Play Mini Pitch grant recipients, totaling over $100,000 in funding to install hard-surface mini soccer pitches in communities across the country. These mini pitches will provide safe places for children in underserved and under resourced communities to play, to learn and to grow through the game of soccer.

    U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION RECEIVES $1 MILLION GRANT FROM OFFICE OF JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY PREVENTION

    Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the major charitable arm of soccer in the United States, today announced it has received an award of $1 million in funding over two years from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The Foundation was one of eight organizations selected to receive funding under the “Group Mentoring” category for the 2015 – 2016 fiscal year. The grant will be used to support the Foundation’s Soccer for Success program in six cities nationwide.
