MIAMI-DADE PARKS, U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION, AND TARGET UNVEIL NEW SOCCER 'DOUBLE-PITCH' AT SOUTH DADE PARK
Homestead, FL – Miami-Dade Parks, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, and Target unveiled a new set of mini-pitches at South Dade Park in Homestead today. These mini-pitches mark the latest play spaces to be completed as a part of a Target and U.S. Soccer Foundation partnership to build 100 mini-pitches nationwide by 2020. To date, the two organizations have also created mini-pitches in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Orlando, and Tampa through the partnership.

U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION AWARDS $309,318 IN GRANT FUNDING TO EXPAND ACCESS TO SAFE AND ACCESSIBLE PLACES TO PLAY
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Soccer Foundation today announced it has awarded 13 grants totaling $309,318 to organizations that will build and enhance safe places to play in 10 states. When completed, the projects will provide access to safe play spaces for at least 36,171 youth and adults.

U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST U.S. SOCCER FEDERATION TO PROTECT ITS BRAND MARKS AND PRESERVE ITS MISSION OF GROWING THE SPORT IN URBAN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES
The U.S. Soccer Foundation (Foundation) today filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeking a declaratory judgment of non-infringement of trademarks in a dispute over who controls the Foundation’s name and branding “marks.”

DOWNTOWN UNITED SOCCER CLUB, U.S. SOCCER FOUNDATION, AND NYC DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION COLLABORATE TO ENGAGE LOCAL YOUTH IN SOCCER PROGRAMMING
New York, NY – Downtown United Soccer Club, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, and the New York City Department of Education today announced a partnership to expand Soccer for Success through the city’s CHAMPS before and afterschool program. Through the partnership, as many as 2,000 students will be engaged in Soccer for Success, the Foundation’s afterschool program offered free to participants and proven to establish healthy habits and deliver positive heath and youth development outcomes.

NEW SOCCER MINI-PITCH UNVEILED AT LUIS MUNOZ MARIN SCHOOL TO PROVIDE RECREATION AND LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT FOR NEWARK YOUTH
NEWARK, N.J.--An innovative new soccer mini-pitch system was unveiled at Newark’s Luis Muñoz Marin School on Thursday, marking the fourth mini-pitch opened this year in Newark. The opening is part of a five-year partnership with the New York Red Bulls, Newark Public Schools, U.S. Soccer Foundation and Wells Fargo to increase access to safe places to play across the city by creating 20 new soccer mini-pitches. As part of this initiative, more than 2,500 Newark youth will be engaged in Soccer for Success, the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s after-school soccer program that delivers positive health and youth development outcomes. The program will operate on many of these new sites.
