WHAT:
In honor of the U.S. Women’s National Team playing Australia’s Matildas in the group stage of the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the major charitable arm of soccer in the United States, and the Embassy of Australia will co-host a World Cup watch party on June 8, 2015 in Washington, D.C.
The evening’s event will include a viewing area at CityCenterDC, where the USA vs. Matildas game will be shown on a large projection screen. In keeping with the spirit of the USA-Australia match-up, guests will have the opportunity to eat delicious food provided by the surrounding D.C. food trucks such as Orange Cow.

WHY:
Admission is free for the World Cup watch party, but a suggested $25.00 donation may be made to support the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Soccer for Success program. Soccer for Success is a free afterschool program that uses soccer as a tool to address children’s health issues and juvenile delinquency, while promoting healthy lifestyles in urban underserved communities.
