Soccer for Success
Independent Evaluation

As we start another year of Soccer for Success...many players are experiencing soccer for the first time. It brings such joy to serve the community with a great structured program like Soccer for Success. For many of our players, they have been in the program for three, four or five years, and regardless of the years, you can still see how happy they are to start a new season. We have seen players and coaches grow in the program and it is a great satisfaction to say we are happy that we are part of Soccer for Success.

- Ale Jurado, Soccer for Success Director, Illinois Youth Soccer Association, Arlington Heights, IL

Illinois Youth Soccer Association has been a Soccer for Success partner of the U.S. Soccer Foundation for eight years. They have served more than 3,400 participants in Soccer for Success.

Potential partners should be a 501c3 or municipality (exceptions exist). Proper insurance is required and all coach-mentors must complete a background check. An important prerequisite is that all partners use Soccer for Success to build healthy communities.

No, but the Foundation takes great pride in training your staff to run the program.

To ensure sustainability of the program, it is important that the community contributes to the initiative. While some organizations may fall into funding streams supported by the U.S. Soccer Foundation, local partnering organizations support the majority of program costs.

It usually takes 3-6 months to prepare for the season’s kick-off. However, we can work with you to develop a quicker timeline on a case-by-case basis.

The Foundation has several great vendors for equipment and uniforms who provide low-cost options. The cost of these is worked into the overall cost of the program.
