Get Soccer for Success in Your Community

CITY OR COUNTY OFFICIALS

Thank you for your interest in Soccer for Success. City and County leadership is key to delivering transformative change at the community level. By making Soccer for Success part of your strategy, you will leverage evidence-based sports programming and build neighborhood play spaces to achieve critical municipal goals and create pathways to success for children and families.

Soccer for Success helps foster safer neighborhoods, provides community members with youth employment opportunities, and is proven to deliver positive health and youth development outcomes. The U.S. Department of Justice cited the program’s unique ability to engage and retain at-risk youth who may not enter or stay in a traditional mentoring relationship. Additionally, 83% of children at greater risk of developing diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease showed improved health outcomes by participating in the program.

We’ll work with you to tailor innovative solutions that address the specific needs and priorities of your community.

Thanks to the Mayor's office, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, the New York City Football Club, and adidas, those opportunities have now expanded.

F.A.Q.S

You do not need to do both. Every city is different. The U.S. Soccer Foundation will work with you to develop a model to address the specific needs of your city- whether it be access to safe playing spaces, evidence-based programming, or both.

Yes. Soccer for Success can take place in any location where there is a safe space to play.

To ensure sustainability of the work, it is important that the community contributes to the work. The U.S. Soccer Foundation will work with you to identify any gaps to achieve the initiative. From there, together, we will work to get additional investments from different sectors.

It usually takes 6-12 months to prepare for the season’s kick-off.  However, we can work with you to develop a quicker timeline on a case-by-case basis.

Potential partners should keep in mind that the insurance is required and all coach-mentors must complete a background check.

No, but the Foundation takes great pride in training your staff to run the program.

The Foundation has several great vendors for equipment and uniforms who provide low-cost options. The cost of these is incorporated into the overall cost of the program.
