Paul Britton is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Capstone. Mr. Britton today runs the overall strategy and direction of Capstone.
With a background trading across global options and derivatives markets, Mr. Britton began his career with Saratoga Limited trading options on London’s LIFFE exchange in 1994 and co-founded the private trading partnership Mako Global Derivatives in 1999. Subsequently, Mr. Britton bought the U.S. operations of the Mako Group to form Capstone in 2004, managing partners’ capital initially as a proprietary trading group. Capstone Investment Advisors was formed and opened to external capital in 2007.
Capstone Investment Advisors is a global fund manager that has specialized in trading volatility as an asset class since its inception in 2007. Capstone currently manages approximately $4 billion (as of March 1, 2017) in assets primarily for pensions, endowments, and foundations. The assets are managed across two platforms: a volatility arbitrage fund and customized volatility-based investment solutions. Currently Capstone employs 92 individuals and is headquartered in New York with an office in London.
Capstone is majority owned by Paul Britton and Dyal Capital Partners, an investment fund formed by Neuberger Berman Group LLC, which purchased a passive minority equity stake in Capstone from members of the management team on May 31, 2013.
