Evelyn Gill is the Founder/Executive of PEI Kids, a nonprofit agency located in Mercer County, New Jersey, whose mission is to serve children and their families through prevention, education, and intervention programs. These programs include crisis intervention counseling for child victims of sexual abuse and their families, intervention services for juvenile on probation, visitation for families and children in foster care, and personal safety programs presented in schools throughout Mercer County, New Jersey.
Evelyn is a former chair of the Mercer County, New Jersey Human Services Advisory Commission Government and Policy Committee, specifically chairing forums for legislators. She is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Greater Mercer County representing the nonprofit executive directors’ council. As past chair of Lawrence Township Recreation Committee, Evelyn was responsible for shepherding the development of Village Park, a 62-acre park that, of course, includes soccer fields.
Notably, Evelyn served on the US Youth Soccer board of directors as secretary and vice president as well as on the board of directors for US Soccer. Her specific areas of interest included TopSoccer for children with disabilities, Soccer Across America for children in underserved communities, and risk management. Evelyn coached for a several years and is the current president of New Jersey Youth Soccer.
In 1994, Evelyn served as the public information director for the World Cup at the New Jersey venue. Evelyn was also a member of the first U.S. Soccer Foundation grants committee.
Evelyn earned her BA from Lake Forest College and her MS from Smith College. She is a member of the Lake Forest College Athletic Hall of Fame, recipient of the Mercer County, NJ Cherish the Children Award, and member of US Youth Soccer Hall of Fame.
A long-time resident of Lawrenceville, NJ, Evelyn has two sons and five soccer-playing grandchildren.
