Brian Klein is a co-founder and Managing Member of Steelhead Partners, LLC. Steelhead Partners (Seattle, Washington). Prior to founding Steelhead Partners, Klein was an Executive Director for the international investment bank Goldman, Sachs & Co. Before joining Goldman, Klein spent 3 ½ years at the Bayerische Vereinsbank in Munich, Germany. Prior to that he worked eight years in private industry for a family-run business.
Klein is the Executive Chairman and Executive Producer of AFRICA TEN. He serves on the boards of Freestone Wealth Management, Redwood Real Estate, MOD Pizza and William Noble Rare Jewels. He is the founder/owner of Sustainable Solutions, a leading innovator of environmental friendly recycled apparel.
Klein is also a Developmental Chair of the U.S. Soccer Foundation, a Board Member and co-founder of Rainier Scholars and former President of the Crossfire Premier Soccer Club. He is an Advisory Board member, former Chair and co-founder of Seattle Scores. In addition Klein is a former board member of the Seattle World Affairs Council, the Lake Washington Youth Soccer Association, America Scores, Up With People International, the Bush School, and a member of the American Council on Germany.
Klein was a founding member and past President of the International Business Club e.V. Munich, which in Germany was the largest national association of young business professionals. He is a seven-time attendee of the German-American Young Leaders Conference.
Klein was educated at Texas Christian University (BA in history) and Southern Methodist University (MBA in finance). Between his freshman and sophomore years of college he traveled for a year as a member of the international cast of Up With People. He spent a summer studying international business in Germany and is fluent in German.
He is married to Victoria Owen Klein and has one son.
