As usual things are busy here at the Foundation, but spirits are high. We made it through what seemed like an extra-long winter, now the sun is out and the World Cup kick off is just a few days away. We’re ready for a summer of soccer!
As most of you already know, 2014 marks the Foundation’s 20th anniversary. We recognize the many ways that soccer connects all of us and we let that show with our anniversary’s guiding theme, “Together, We Are Soccer.” Though the Foundation is based in Washington, D.C., we are connected to many dedicated Soccer for Success program partners across the country. What better way to embrace our theme and the World Cup, than to share our summer of soccer with our program partners nationwide?
So, here’s what we have planned:
We’ll be hosting a World Cup watch party, but it won’t be just any watch party. We wanted a simultaneous coast-to-coast watch party where we could connect our partners from Portland to Atlanta, Houston to Nashville! This World Cup watch party, benefiting Soccer for Success, will provide our program partners the opportunity to raise awareness about their program and to showcase the great work they are doing to address children’s health issues and promote healthy lifestyles for youth in their communities. Admission is free but donations are welcome and will support your local Soccer for Success program.
