For the past few months, our staff has been traveling to different Soccer for Success cities across the nation to check in with the community partners that assist us at the grassroots level as well as visit the children we serve. I had the pleasure of visiting our sites in Raleigh, NC, Seattle, WA and Portland, OR – all of which proved to be very exciting.
I returned to Washington, D.C. feeling inspired and in awe of the power of soccer. Though we are serving children in 20 cities, who all have unique needs – it was amazing to see soccer unite the different communities we serve. The power of soccer to transcend gender, age and cultures is one of the reasons we feel soccer is a great way to get kids active and healthy – everyone can do it! To see that power, in person, in all corners of the U.S. was really special for me – I can’t wait to travel next spring.
Quick Fact: 89% of children in Soccer for Success said that they liked soccer more because of the program.
