In honor of Valentine’s Day, my family members and I have composed a few love letters to soccer. Enjoy!
I love you so much. You make after school fun. I love running around with my teammates. I have made 12 new friends that I see three (or more) times a week, because of you. I love the faces of my teammates when they score their first goal. I love my coach and how much fun we all have at practice. You are an amazing sport!

I love you so much because I get to play with my friend. I love that I got to play soccer games. I love you because I like to run fast. I like to learn new things. I love my coach because she is nice. I like to be at soccer because it makes me happy. I like to be at soccer because they make me laugh. I love you soccer.

For Valentine’s Day, I wanted to say what I love about you. First off, I love that you are outside. Even in the rain it is fun to play. You also help me make new friends and that is awesome! It is also fun when everybody on the field loves you as much as I do. It makes it more fun, don’t you think? I also love how my other family members love you as much as I do. Almost. It is fun when we can all relate to you. Overall, you make me and a lot of other kids’ lives happy.

And now… a soccer haiku!
The heart overflows
with love and joy for soccer
be mine, Valentine
