Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships

The Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships, under the direction and direct supervision of the Vice President of Philanthropy, is responsible for developing new relationships with high-level corporate partners and securing funding for our national programs and strategic growth goals. The primary responsibility of the Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships will be to introduce and promote our national model for sports based youth development and field building/improvement programs to potential corporate partners and secure mid to high level multi-year funding in the $25K - $1MM+ range.  This will be accomplished through event, program and customized corporate giving packages.

The role of the Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships is to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate partners.  As the Foundation continues Phase II of its strategic plan, a significant increase in corporate revenue is required to achieve our national growth goals.  The Associate Director will not only work with Foundation team members on stewarding current partners, but is primarily responsible for generating new corporate ones. 

Roles and Responsibilities
-    Build a pipeline to secure new annual revenue in excess $1.5MM to support organizational needs, event and program sponsorships
-    Develop and implement strategies to identify, engage, pursue and secure new partners, with a primary focus on national partnerships to support our strategic growth
-    Cultivate a portfolio of prospective corporate partners through research, networking, email campaigns, cold-calls, and by maximizing relationships of current partners
-    Responsible for preparing materials and pitches that can be delivered in person, or over the phone to develop new relationships
-    Key manager for all phases of business development cycle that includes sales calls and meetings, the designing of presentations and creation of proposals, letters of agreement, budgets and contract negotiations
-    Create written weekly/monthly reports and updates to VP of Philanthropy regarding pipeline development and revenue projections
-    Manage program budget
-    Work closely with team members throughout the organization to implement all programs in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
-    Support and enhance the goals, mission and culture of the U.S. Soccer Foundation

Minimum Qualifications
-    Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.  Prior experience should include responsibility for revenue generation, fundraising programs and/or direct sales.
-    Demonstrated track record securing new revenue in the $25K - $1MM range
-    Experience in building and managing new partnerships
-    Exceptional and persuasive written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with team members, community leaders and senior level executives.
-    Demonstrated ability to represent the U.S. Soccer Foundation professionally
-    At least five years’ experience in direct revenue generation, fundraising, or sales.  Experience in both non-profit and corporate environments a plus.
-    Strong track record in prospecting for and building and cultivating partner/client/account relationships.
-    Demonstrated experience successfully negotiating partnerships and/or contracts.
-    Demonstrated ability to be a creative and resourceful problem solver; able to balance tension between partner expectations and organizational capabilities, strategies and results.
-    Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, driven and goal oriented.
-    Demonstrated ability and desire to think strategically and execute efficiently and effectively.
-    Excellent organizational and time management skills.
-    Advanced computer skills (Salesforce preferred) and expertise in Microsoft Office.
-    Demonstrated ability to design, update and deliver fundraising collateral.
-    Passion for the vision and mission of the U.S. Soccer Foundation.  Strong interest in sports based youth development.
-    Ideal candidate will be a team player, self-motivated and have the ability to manage multiple tasks, goals, problem-solve and maintain high ethical standards, tact and diplomacy skills.
-    The ability to travel 25-50% of time.
